Each year Devizes Town Council is subject to an audit undertaken by external auditors.  The auditors are appointed by the Audit Commission and the Town Council has no involvement in the selection process.

The annual accounts are required to be approved by the Council by the 30 June in any financial year and the audit is required to be completed by the 30 September in the same financial year.
