During the Mayoral year Devizes hosted several military events
During the Twinning Weekend, 12th/13th June 1993, 12 Cherry trees were planted in Hillworth Park to commemorate the formation of the Single European Market on 1st January 1993
During the reception after the Mayor’s Civic Service at St John’s Church a cake, made by Mrs Ruby Jones (wife of former secretary of the Twinning Association, Glyn Jones) was cut by the three Mayors M. Claude LeBlanc, Herr Dr Ulrich Gauss and Mrs Margaret Taylor
Petition presented to Roger Pedley for the retention of laundry services at Roundway Hospital
The Lions sponsored walk led by President Barry Mitchell, accompanied by the Mayor (The “accident” was blood poisoning!)
Donation of proceeds from the Mayor’s Appeal being presented to the Nursteed Centre
