On the 15th May I had the honour of being made Mayor of Devizes, a town that I am so passionately fond of.
For those who don’t know me I was born and educated in Devizes and my family and working life has remains centred in Devizes.
I have been a councillor on Devizes Town Council for five years and in that time I have done my utmost for the town and towns people to maintain standards, traditions and heritage.
Devizes has so much to offer, the castle, the canal and its own unique history. I will continue to promote the local traditions like the market, the Devizes to Westminster Canoe Race, the Devizes Festival and the Devizes Carnival.
My main aim is this year to make Devizes a town that people come to and not go through without stopping, a town that we can all enjoy living in and to make Devizes a town for everyone to be proud of.
My mayoral appeal this year is for Bradbury Manor, a respite home for young dependent adults and Devizes Sports Club, which caters for young and not so young. |
