Devizes Town Council Civic Monuments

Devizes is fortunate to have two significant monuments situated within the Market Place. Restoration work to both the Market Cross and the Estcourt Fountain has recently been completed thanks to funding from Devizes Town Council, a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund and a donation from Mr Mike Pitcher.

An exhibition of 7 panels highlighting the history of these two important monuments was previously on display in the foyer of the Corn Exchange. We have recreated these panels for this web page, clicking on the thumbnail images below will open a copy of the relevant panel as a pdf (Adobe Reader) document:
