Latest News Re-Floating the Titanic! 15-06-2009 Great news on the progress of the repair of our iconic Canal Boat Planter which was vandalised last month.  Following an appeal in the Gazette & Herald, we were inundated with offers of help and the Kennet & Avon Trust have taken on the task of renovating the boat at their “Monday Club” at the Bridge Inn, Horton. We are very grateful to them for coming to our aid so promptly.   Landlord Adrian Softly tells us the boat is coming on very nicely, has been reinforced fore, aft and below, and will be repainted shortly.    Several little “extras” have been added, to make the boat look as authentic as possible, including lights, ropes and even a chimney! Once painted, the boat will be repositioned in its rightful place as an emblem of Devizes on the roundabout at Southbroom Road.

Community Grants 10-03-2009 If your community group is looking for additional funding and can demonstrate that its aims benefit the citizens of Devizes town parish, you can apply for a share of this year’s community grant. The closing date will be the 30th September and only applications made on the Council’s own grant form will be considered.
