How Our Services are are Affected

MARKETS - The Shambles is open every day for takeaway food and drinks.  The pet stall will also be trading daily. A one-way system is in place - please enter through the Market Place entrance. Face coverings must be worn whilst in The Shambles in accordance with Government guidelines.

The Thursday outdoor market in the Market Place continues to run, with many of our regular food stalls open for business as well as the plant stall and hoover repairs. We ask the community to respect social distancing and queue markings on the floor.

HILLWORTH PARK & CEMETERY - We have no plans to close Hillworth Park or the Devizes Cemetery as we recognise that these are beautiful green spaces which can be used by the community for exercise.

HILLWORTH PARK CAFE- The Cafe is open for take away drinks, snacks and ice creams.Opening times: Tuesday - Friday 11am - 3pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am - 4pm. Card payments only.

WEST CENTRAL CAR PARK SUPERLOOS- The Superloos are open.

SKATE PARK- The Skate Park is open

PLAY AREAS- Play areas across Devizes remain open.  We sanitise equipment infrequently, so please use your own sanitiser and wash hands after use.

OUTDOOR GYM. This equipment in Hillworth Park can be used, but we will struggle to sanitise it.  Please be aware and wash your hands after use.

It is VITAL that everyone continues to act responsibly when using the open facilities. The infection rate will increase if people break social distancing rules and gather in large groups. We ask that you play your part and follow the Government guidelines (effective from 5th November):

  • You can exercise outdoors or visit an outdoor public place - with the people you live with, with your support bubble or, when on your own, with ONE person from another household (children under school age, as well as those dependent on round-the-clock care, such as those with severe disabilities, who are with their parents will not count towards the limit on two people meeting outside).

YOU MUST OBSERVE THE RULES OF SOCIAL DISTANCING AT ALL TIMES IN THE PARK & CEMETERY & ALL OTHER FACILITIES.  Our Parks and Open Spaces Team will continue to carry out litter collections, grass cutting and other such services. These are important and still deemed as essential services that we hope will ensure the town is a clean and pleasant place to live. Please be assured that they are working within Government social distancing guidelines and we would ask that you do not approach them when they are out and about.
